He got tired of watching me try to type one handed, so he bought me iListen. iListen is a software made by MacSpeech that allows you to type with your voice. It's pretty cool. It took me about 2.5 hours to train it to 80 percent accuracy. it is still learning every time I speak, and I estimate it is already up to 87 percent accuracy. I am using it to write this post. The software cost 149 dollars at the Apple Store in the mall, or you can pay a little more and get your own copy here . You can also buy it for 134 dollars through the Amazon page link in the sidebar. Visit Epinions and read my review of this product here .

So I already mentioned the broken collarbone. It's not like I think I'm the only person in the world who has ever broken a bone, I just never knew how important this innocuous little bone is. With the break I can't do the simplest things: cut food to make a meal or feed myself, button shirts, tie shoes, type two handed, play with and feed my pets, do my own hair… the list seems endless. And of course I broke the right side and I'm right handed.
I'm thankful to have been so lucky, walking away with just a broken collarbone and various bumps and bruises (how long is a big ass goose egg on my head supposed to last, anyway?). Even so, this is much harder than I expected it would be. If it is this frustrating for me, with my support from honey, how hard it must be for someone alone! I'm not usually the volunteer type, but I plan to find a way to help people suffering through injuries like this who have no one once I'm healed.

So I'm typing this left handed. This righty's doing everything left handed now, and not by choice. I slid on black ice and flipped my Xterra. I am banged up, bruised and sore, not to mention in need of possible surgery for a severe break in my collar bone. Between the pain, the pain meds, the inability to put my laptop on my lap right now, and the left hand awkwardness, it takes me forever to type anything, a serious issue for a writer with a full deck of clients. So I did a little surfing and found a solution. Of course ,it's $200 for this solution, so it's not going to happen

… and that honey is a saint. Guess what yesterday was? My 11th anniversary with honey! Yay us!
<insert streamers and random happy stuff here>
Guess who forgot about it? ME. Not him, ME. Forgot.
I am the suck, I swear.
<insert frownie faces and wet noodles for beating here>
I've always known I'm not a hearts and flowers and mushy crap kind of girly girl, but I think this cements the idea of me as tomboy, don't you?
I love you honey. Thanks for putting up with this kind of thing for 11 years of togetherness and many years of friendship before that.

Well folks, in my excitement over the Apple iPhone (WANT) in my post a few days ago, I completely forgot to mention the newest device from Apple: AppleTV, which will be available in February for sale (the iPhone does not have a release date yet, it is still awaiting approval from the FCC).
Apple TV is a TV-top box that holds up to 50 hours of programming, streamed from your computer to your TV. That's right – now you can put the movies and vlogs and other media you download right on your TV from your computer. Not only that, up to five different computers can be networked in to stream more video. With a 40GB hard drive, wireless or wired options, multiple computer functionality, a sleek look and a decent price tag (under $400), this is going to be a home run.

Yum. Just, yum.

It'd be nice if it had the memory of a 30GB iPod to cut down on pocket clutter, but this will do for now. I sense an upgrade in my future.
Update (Jan 11. 2006): Apple being sued by Cisco over the name iPhone. Lawsuit delaying release. Read the article here .
